India Gate: The Monument of Valor

Standing at the heart of New Delhi, the India Gate is a commanding 42-meter-tall sandstone archway that serves as a profound memorial. Originally built to honor the soldiers of the undivided Indian Army who lost their lives during World War I, it has evolved into a vibrant public space.

Today, the monument is surrounded by lush lawns that are heavily frequented by locals and tourists alike, especially during the evenings. The Amar Jawan Jyoti, the eternal flame that burned under the arch for decades, has now been merged with the nearby National War Memorial, adding another layer of solemn history to the immediate area.
